Common repairsWhat owners tell us when they call about a washing machine. Any of them, on any Siemens model, starts with a test at your home.
These are codes we are called out for on Siemens appliances in the UAE. A code narrows the search — it does not name the broken part on its own, which is why every job starts with a test rather than a guess.
What it means
The machine could not pump the water out within the time it allows, so it stopped the cycle. F18 is the same fault, reported as a drain time-out.
Usually
Almost always a blocked drain path rather than a dead machine — the pump filter (the screw-out trap behind the flap at the bottom front) is choked with lint, coins or hair clips, or the drain hose is kinked, crushed behind the machine, or blocked at the standpipe. If the filter is clean and the pump impeller will not spin freely by hand, the drain pump itself is failing and needs replacing.
What it means
The control board has detected that the drum motor is not turning as commanded — the drum may jerk, stall or refuse to spin at all.
Usually
On older brushed-motor models the carbon brushes are worn down and need replacing; on other machines it points to the motor control section of the main board, a loose motor loom connector, or a seized drum bearing loading the motor. Worth checking nothing is physically jamming the drum before condemning parts.
Seeing one of these codes? Call with the code and the model number from the rating plate, and we will tell you the likely cause and what happens next.

We confirm the exact part, its availability and the expected wait with you before the repair is approved. Where an original part is discontinued or slow to source, we say so and tell you what the alternative is before anything is fitted — including whether it is an OEM part or a high-grade equivalent.
Our inspection and fixing fee is AED 100. If any parts need replacing, they are charged on top — and only with your approval.
All prices exclude 5% VAT. If you decide not to go ahead after the inspection, the AED 100 is payable; if we cannot repair it at all, you pay nothing.
The same method on every Siemens washing machine — test first, agree any parts, repair, then the warranty.
Call or WhatsApp with the model number and what the appliance is doing. An error code helps.
The technician tests and confirms the fault before anything is replaced. No guessing.
The AED 100 fee covers the inspection and the fixing. Any part is priced first and fitted only with your approval.
We run the appliance in front of you, then the repair carries a 90-day warranty.
Straight answers to what people ask us about Siemens washing machines and dryers.
E18 means the machine tried to pump the water out and could not finish in time. Nine times out of ten it is a blockage, not a broken machine. Switch the machine off, open the small flap at the bottom front, put a shallow tray and towel down, and unscrew the pump filter — coins, hair clips, tissue and lint collect there. Also pull the machine out and check the drain hose is not kinked or crushed. If the filter is clean and it still will not drain, the drain pump has usually failed and needs replacing, which is a straightforward repair for us.
The ones we are called out for most are E18 and F21, and each is explained on this page. A code narrows the search but does not name the broken part on its own, so every job starts with a test rather than a guess.

If it is still inside Siemens's own warranty, use Siemens's service channel first — an independent repair may affect that cover. Once that warranty has ended, we repair it at your home, and our own 90-day warranty covers the parts we fit and the work we do.
Usually on a sticker inside the door rim or on the back panel. Send a photo of that label on WhatsApp with what the washing machine is doing and any code on the display — the model number tells us which parts fit before we arrive.
