This policy explains what we do with your personal data. It is written in plain English on purpose. We collect only the information we genuinely need in order to answer your enquiry, send a technician to the right address and repair your appliance.
1. Who we are and who controls your data
The data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy is:
UNITECH HOME BUILDING MAINTENANCE L.L.C (Unitech Maintenance)
Limited Liability Company (LLC), Ajman, United Arab Emirates
Professional Licence No. 134585 — Government of Ajman, Department of Economic Development
Commercial Register No. 201838356
Registered office: No. 3, Masfout, Ajman, United Arab Emirates
Phone & WhatsApp: +971 58 869 5211
Email: info@homeappliancerepair-uae.com
We operate the website homeappliancerepair-uae.com and offer home appliance repair and maintenance services in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean UNITECH HOME BUILDING MAINTENANCE L.L.C, which uses the short name Unitech Maintenance on this website.
We handle personal data in accordance with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the UAE PDPL) and the other data protection requirements that apply to us in the United Arab Emirates. This policy, and any dispute about it, is governed by UAE law.
2. The personal data we collect
We collect data in two ways: what you give us directly, and basic technical information that your browser sends whenever it loads a web page.
Information you give us
- Your name — so we can address you properly and so our technician knows who they are meeting.
- Your phone number — to confirm the appointment and to call you on arrival.
- Your WhatsApp number — if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp, we see the number the message is sent from.
- Your email address — only if you email us or ask for a written quotation, invoice or warranty document.
- The address for the service visit — emirate, area, building, flat or villa number, and any access instructions, so the technician reaches the right door.
- Appliance details — type, brand, model, serial or rating-plate details and a description of the fault, so we arrive with the correct tools and spare parts.
- Photos or videos you choose to send — for example a picture of the fault, the error code or the rating plate.
- Your correspondence with us — the content of your calls, WhatsApp messages, emails and form enquiries, together with our job notes, quotations, invoices and warranty records.
Information collected automatically
This website does not run analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it does not build a record of your visit. The only technical information involved is what any website receives when your browser asks it for a page:
- Server logs — the server that hosts this website records your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used to keep the site working and secure.
- Web fonts — the typefaces on this website are delivered by Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address and browser details to Google to receive them. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
We never ask for payment details on this website. There is no online payment form here, and we do not store card numbers. You pay the technician directly, after the repair is completed and tested in front of you.
3. Why we use your data, and our lawful basis
Under the PDPL we must have a lawful basis for every use of your personal data. Ours are set out below.
- To answer your enquiry, agree an appointment and carry out the repair — including dispatching a technician, quoting a price, ordering parts, invoicing and honouring the 90-day warranty. Basis: performance of our agreement with you, and taking the steps you asked for before that agreement is made.
- To contact you about a job you have asked us to do — confirming arrival windows, calling on arrival and following up during the warranty period. Basis: performance of our agreement with you.
- Where you have sent us an enquiry, a photo or a message — we use it to diagnose and respond. Basis: your consent, which you give when you send it and may withdraw at any time.
- To keep the accounting, invoicing and tax records UAE law requires us to keep — including our VAT records. Basis: compliance with a legal obligation.
- To keep this website working and secure, and to defend ourselves if a legal claim is made. Basis: our legitimate interests, which we balance against your rights so that our interests do not prejudice them.
We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone, and we do not build profiles about you.
4. Who we share your data with
We share only what the recipient actually needs, and only for the purpose it was given.
- Our technicians — we give the technician assigned to your job, and any specialist engaged to assist on it, your name, contact number, service address, access instructions and appliance details.
- Spare-part suppliers and distributors — normally we pass only the appliance brand, model and the part reference. Where a part must be ordered in or delivered directly to you, a supplier may also need your name and contact details.
- Payment processors and our bank — if you pay by card or bank transfer, the payment is handled by the processor or bank under its own terms. We receive confirmation of the payment; we do not receive or store your full card number.
- Our IT, hosting and communications providers — the companies that host this website, our email and our business messaging accounts.
- Our accountant and professional advisers — where they need job or invoice records to do their work.
- Government authorities and courts — where UAE law requires us to disclose data, or where disclosure is necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
Everyone we share data with is required to keep it confidential and to use it only for the purpose we gave it to them for.
5. What we never do
- We never sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone.
- We do not add you to marketing lists without your agreement, and if we ever send you a marketing message you can stop it by telling us once.
- We do not pass your address, phone number or photographs to anyone outside the parties listed in section 4.
- We do not ask for your bank login, card PIN, one-time passcode or Emirates ID number in order to book a repair.
6. WhatsApp enquiries
Our WhatsApp buttons open an empty chat with our business number; nothing is written for you. If you use the booking form instead, it opens WhatsApp with the details you typed into the form, so you can check them and send them in one tap. WhatsApp is a third-party service operated by WhatsApp LLC, part of the Meta group, and it processes your message under its own privacy terms in addition to this policy. That means your number, your message and any photo you attach pass through WhatsApp's systems and servers, which are outside our control. If you would rather not use WhatsApp, please call +971 58 869 5211 or email us instead.
We keep the conversation in our business WhatsApp account only for as long as we need it to complete the job and honour the warranty on it.
7. Cookies
This website does not set cookies, and it does not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels or any other tracking technology. There is nothing to accept and nothing to opt out of.
If you reached us through an advert on Google, Google handles the click under its own privacy terms before you arrive here. Where a page shows an embedded Google map, the map is supplied by Google, and Google may set its own cookies when it loads.
8. Transfers outside the UAE
We are based in the United Arab Emirates and your job records are handled here. However, some of the services we rely on are operated internationally, so a limited amount of data may be processed on servers outside the UAE:
- WhatsApp (Meta) — messages you choose to send us on WhatsApp.
- Google — the web fonts this website uses.
- Our hosting and email providers — the servers that hold this website and our mailbox.
The PDPL allows personal data to be transferred outside the UAE where the receiving country has an adequate level of protection, or where an appropriate safeguard such as a contractual undertaking is in place, or where you have consented to the transfer. We rely on those routes and on the data protection terms these providers publish.
9. How long we keep your data
- Enquiries that do not become a booking — kept only for as long as we need to answer you, then deleted.
- Job records (quotation, work carried out, parts fitted, invoice) — kept through the 90-day warranty period and then for as long as UAE tax, accounting and commercial record-keeping law requires.
- WhatsApp and email correspondence — kept for as long as we need it to complete and warranty the job, and to deal with any complaint about it.
- Server logs — kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
When a retention period ends, records are securely deleted or destroyed. If a complaint or legal claim is open, we keep the records that relate to it until the matter is closed.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. In practice that means access to job records is limited to the people who need them, business accounts are password-protected, this website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and our technicians are instructed never to share customer details outside the company or to use a customer's address or number for any purpose other than the job.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to affect your privacy, we will act on it and notify you and the relevant UAE authority as the PDPL requires.
11. Your rights under the UAE PDPL
Subject to the conditions and exceptions set out in the law, you have the right to:
- Be informed about how your data is processed, who it is shared with and whether it is transferred abroad.
- Access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
- Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format, or ask us to transfer it to another controller where that is technically possible.
- Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected or completed.
- Have your data deleted, except where we are required to keep it — for example tax and accounting records — or need it to defend a legal claim.
- Restrict or stop the processing of your data, for example while a dispute about its accuracy is being resolved.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to processing for direct marketing.
- Object to automated processing and to decisions made about you by automated means.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on. Withdrawal does not undo processing already carried out lawfully.
- Complain to the supervisory authority (see section 13).
Exercising any of these rights is free of charge and will never affect the service or the warranty you receive from us.
12. How to make a request
To exercise any right in section 11, contact us by any of these routes:
- Email info@homeappliancerepair-uae.com
- Call +971 58 869 5211
- Message us on WhatsApp at +971 58 869 5211
- Write to us at the registered office in section 1
Please tell us what you want us to do and give us enough detail to find your record — the phone number you booked with, and the approximate date and address of the visit. We may ask you a question or two to confirm you are the person the data belongs to, so that we do not disclose someone else's details by mistake. We aim to respond within 30 days. If a request is complex and we need longer, we will tell you why.
13. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first — call +971 58 869 5211 or email info@homeappliancerepair-uae.com. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and to put things right.
If you are still not satisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office, the federal authority responsible for supervising the PDPL. Doing so does not affect any other legal remedy available to you under UAE law.
14. Children
This website is intended for adults arranging repairs for their home or business. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not direct any advertising at them. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them. Where a repair is booked for a household that includes children, we still ask that an adult be present during the visit.
15. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top. Where a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you directly. Please check back occasionally.
