- Blowing air, but the room never gets cold. Usually low refrigerant from a leak, a failing compressor, or a condenser coil so clogged it cannot dump heat.
- Water dripping from the indoor unit or staining the ceiling. Almost always a blocked condensate drain — in Dubai's dust, drain pans silt up and the water backs out of the tray instead of running away.
- The unit trips the breaker. A shorted compressor winding, a failed capacitor, or moisture that has tracked into the outdoor unit's terminal block.
- Ice on the copper pipework or the indoor coil. Restricted airflow or low refrigerant charge. Running it iced up damages the compressor, so switch it off and call.
- Outdoor unit runs, indoor fan does not. Fan motor, run capacitor or the indoor PCB.
- Smells musty every time it starts. Biological growth in the blower wheel and drain pan — a deep clean, not a repair.
- Remote does nothing / unit ignores commands. Receiver eye, display board, or the remote itself.

What a repair visit actually involves
Call nowThe technician measures rather than guesses. Suction and discharge pressures, temperature split across the coil, current draw on the compressor and fan, capacitor microfarads under load. Those four readings separate a gas problem from an airflow problem from an electrical problem, and they take about twenty minutes.
Gas is the one to be careful about. A unit that has lost refrigerant has lost it somewhere — recharging without finding the leak means you pay again in two months. We pressure-test and trace the leak first, tell you where it is, and then you decide whether to repair the leak or just top up as a stopgap. Both are legitimate choices; we would rather you make it knowingly.
Servicing, as distinct from repair
Call nowMost AC failures in this climate are dirt failures. Coils pack with dust, filters choke, drains silt up, and the system slowly loses the ability to move heat until something gives up. A service is a clean: filters, indoor coil, blower wheel, drain line flushed, condenser coil washed, refrigerant pressures and electrical connections checked.
Done before summer, it is the cheapest thing you will spend on the system all year. Done in August when the unit has already failed, it is a repair.

How often should an AC be serviced in the UAE?
Twice a year for a unit that runs most of the year, and at minimum once before summer. Dust load here is far higher than the manufacturer's assumed conditions, so intervals printed in the manual tend to be optimistic.
My AC is cooling less than last year. Does it need gas?
Often not. Refrigerant is a sealed charge — it does not get "used up", so if it is low there is a leak. Gradual loss of cooling is more often a dirty condenser or a choked filter. We check airflow and pressures before selling you gas.
Water is coming through my ceiling. Is that urgent?
Yes — switch the unit off. It is usually a blocked drain rather than anything catastrophic mechanically, but the water damage it causes to gypsum ceilings is expensive and keeps getting worse while the unit runs.
Can you work on the chiller in my building?
No. We service the fan coil unit inside your apartment. Central chiller plant and district cooling infrastructure are the building's responsibility, and your management company holds the contract for them.
Do you install new units as well?
Yes, including removal and disposal of the old unit. Call with the room size and we will talk through capacity before quoting — an undersized unit in a UAE summer never stops running.
Is there an extra charge at night or on a Friday?
No. Nights, weekends and public holidays are charged at the same rate.
